Map the operation
We walk guest rooms, corridors, the front desk, plant rooms and staff routes. The useful design starts from check-in, housekeeping and night audit — not from a catalogue of gadgets.
Separate guest rooms from the building
Guest-room scenes, access credentials and energy-saving vacant modes are specified apart from common-area lighting, cameras and plant. Mixing the two is how a hotel ends up with one app nobody on the night shift can use.
Confirm the interfaces
Arrival and checkout automation only exists if the hotel’s access and property-management systems can talk to the room. We do not promise that integration until the interface is confirmed.
Pilot rooms before a roll-out
One or two rooms, lived in by staff, will tell you more than a full-floor drawing. Scenes, credentials and vacant-mode behaviour are adjusted here, while changing them is still cheap.
Commission and train the people who run it
Housekeeping, front desk and engineering are trained on the actual rooms, not a show suite. Documentation stays with the hotel so the system can be worked on after handover.
A hotel is not a large house.
Checkout has to earn its keep
Vacant rooms should drop lighting and selected equipment and move air-conditioning into an energy-saving state. That only works if checkout is a real event in the system, not a hope that someone remembers a switch.
Credentials are not a gadget
A departing guest’s access must stop working. A room must not unlock remotely except after intentional approval by an authorised person. Those are operational rules, not features.
Life-safety stays with the specialists
Fire, emergency-exit and HVAC shutdown sequences are designed with the responsible fire, electrical and access engineers. Ordinary room automation does not replace a certified fire system.

- Guest departure — checkout can deactivate credentials, switch selected equipment off, move AC into an energy-saving state and flag the room for housekeeping

- Energy and vacant rooms — agreed loads only; not every circuit in the building on backup or in comfort mode
Final functions depend on compatible hardware, the building, and confirmed interfaces with the hotel’s access and property-management systems.

Can you automate guest rooms while the hotel is still under construction?
If the walls are still open we specify a wired system at first fix. An operating hotel is typically a retrofit. We start from how the hotel actually runs — check-in, housekeeping and night audit — not from a catalogue of gadgets.
